Scheduling and Fees
• Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 7:30am til 4:00pm.
• Sessions typically last 1.5 to 2 hours for a full beauty treatment.
All grooming prices are strictly estimates determined by the amount of time, product and restraint required to groom a healthy, social cat that receives consistent professional grooming several times a year. Charges will increase if your cat is aggressive and/or additional time is required to complete the groom. Prices cannot be guaranteed. Final charges will be determined when the groom is complete.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 48 hours notice is appreciated for appointment cancellations. Repeated cancellations will result in a required deposit prior to scheduling another appointment.
Pre-booking multiple appointments is recommended to ensure availability and an uninterrupted schedule.
For the safety and comfort of your cat, I ask that you bring your cat to our facility in a carrier. All spa sessions are scheduled by appointment. Please arrive as close to the scheduled time as possible so your cat doesn't have to wait for its grooming to begin. I encourage you to retrieve your cat as soon as possible once the groom is completed. However, if needed, special arrangements can be made in advance for an earlier drop-off or later pick-up time.
It's my goal to provide a low-stress, positive experience for your cat when it visits Stonebriar Veterinary Centre. Except in emergencies, I recommend scheduling veterinary care appointments at least one week apart from the grooming.
You're presence is always welcome, but not required, during the grooming session and I'm happy to offer advice and instructions for home grooming care between appointments. I encourage you to reassure your kitty with praise and kind words. However, please do not attempt to restrain your cat. The risk of injury to you, your cat and me is of great concern. If I cannot safely handle your cat or it becomes dangerously stressed, the grooming will stop immediately.
Also, for the safety of your cat it is imperative that you disclose all health issues and behavioral concerns before grooming begins. While I treat every cat with loving kindness, additional consideration and handling adjustments are necessary for cats with special needs. Diabetes, arthritis, heart conditions, allergies, current medications, prior broken bones, fear aggression, changes in the home such as a recent move or the introduction of a new family member, and prior grooming experiences are just a few of the things that can affect your cat's demeanor and tolerance for grooming. I need and want to know as much about your cat as possible.
Basic Groom: Shorthair Breeds $30-$45 and Medium/Longhair Breeds $45-$60
Recommended every 4-12 weeks for maintenance. Includes: Pawdicure (front and back claw trim), Initial Combout, Inspection and Evaluation of Skin and Coat, Warm Fresh-Water Bath
(2 Quality Shampoos + optional Crème Rinse), Full-Body Massage, Ear Cleaning and Inspection, Gentle Face Cleaning, Teeth and Gum Inspection, Fluff Drying by Hand,
Final Combout and Brushing, Anti-static Re-hydrating Mist Application.
Medicated Treatment: $11 in addition to Basic Groom cost
Cats can suffer from seborrhea (dandruff) and other non-specific scales and crust, particularly if the coat has become matted. Applying veterinarian recommended Sebolux® shampoo
for five to ten minutes can provide immediate, yet temporary relief. In all cases, a veterinarian should examine changes to the skin and coat as an underlying health condition or
allergy may be the cause and treatment can vary.
Lion Clip: starts at $75 and will increase $5-$25 if the coat is matted
This is an all-over body shave, excluding the head, mane, paws, legs and tail using a 10 blade (cuts the fur to 1/16"). The tail can be left long or shaved leaving a 2-3 inch span
of fur on the tail tip just like a real lion. The Lion Clip is an excellent choice for reducing shedding, preventing hairballs and is sometimes necessary to avoid/remove coat matting.
A Basic Groom is included with the Lion Clip at no additional charge.
Tummy/Sanitary Shave: $20 for both or $10 for Sanitary Shave only
The tummy and sanitary areas are two of the most problematic for cats and their owners to maintain. Routine shaving can be very effective at combating hairballs, matting and unpleasant
hygienic issues. The 'bloomers' (the fur on the back of the hind legs) can be blended upon request at no additional charge.
De-matting: $5-$25 depending on severity and time required
I will attempt to comb out small tangles in the coat, but severe matting will be shaved. Dematting is painful to your cat and harmful to its skin. Pain creates a negative connection
with grooming and hinders the positive, trusting relationship I need to groom your cat safely. Dematting poses a risk of injury to the cat. Often underlying skin issues are exposed
once the mats are removed. Prevention of mats is vital.
Mane Trim: $5
The mane, or 'ruff' on many cats can be quite full and beautiful, but not very practical. It gets caught in the mouth when the cat grooms and water and food get stuck and create an
unsightly appearance and even matting. By carefully trimming this area with thinning shears, a natural balanced look is achieved. However, trimmed cat fur is uneven and requires
frequent combing to prevent matting.
Toe Tufts Shave: $10
This price will increase $5-$10 is the fur is matted in the paw pads. The fur on the bottom of the paw is shaved and the fur on the top and sides of the paw is blended and given
a tidy, rounded shape. This can be helpful in preventing litter tracking, matting from clumping litter use and adds traction on hardwood floors.
Paw-dicure
(front and back claw trim): $10 - complete set, $5 - hind claws only
Included with the Basic Groom at no additional charge. Beneficial at 4-6 week intervals to keep the claws blunted. If your kitty is an active scratcher, it’s helpful to trim the claws
every 2 weeks. I am happy to demonstrate the proper technique for safe claw trimming so that you can maintain your kitty's claws as needed between grooming sessions.
Soft Paws® Application: $20 and includes Paw-dicure
Developed by a veterinarian, Soft Paws® are vinyl nail caps that are easily applied using a safe adhesive. This amazing product effectively covers the claws so no damage occurs
when your cat exhibits its natural scratching instinct. Most caps last approximately four weeks and can be purchased through a local retailer or online at
www.softpaws.com Plus they come in lots of fun colors!
Combout: $20 if less than 6 weeks and $30-$40 if longer than 6 weeks since last groom
Includes: Thorough Coat Combing and Brushing, Inspection and Evaluation of Skin and Coat, Ear Cleaning and Inspection, Gentle Face Cleaning, Teeth and Gum Inspection, Anti-static
Re-hydrating Mist Application. Purr-fect for Persian, Himalayan, Birman, Ragdoll, Maine Coon, Domestic Longhair and other dense-coated breeds that need a little extra help keeping
their coats gorgeous and mat-free. A Combout is a supplemental groom service and is best coupled with regular grooming that includes bathing and drying. Combout sessions can be
a wonderful training aid to acclimate a hypersensitive cat to the grooming process.
